Bimini tops are wonderful things on sailboats. Primarily they protect you from the sun, but they also offer some protection in rainy wheather. We make our Biminis from your choice of quality Sunbrella fabric to match the rest of your boat's canvas. You may have us just make you a new skin for your existing frame (if you select skins only, it would be very helpful to send us your existing Bimini skin to insure a perfect fit on your existing frame), or you may select either aluminum or stainless steel for a brand new frame.
If you select aluminum, we will use top quality bright-anodized aluminum tubing and durable white nylon fittings. If you select stainless steel for your new frame, we will use 1" bright stainless tubing and stainless fittings. On sailboats, support struts are a great idea to support the back of the bimini when it is folded back. Finally, we can add a viewing window if you wish to provide a line of sight for your sail trim. Just provide us the distance from the rear of the bimini to the point where you want the back of the window placed.
When it comes to the measuring of your Bimini, it is pretty straight forward. The width is determined by your mounting points on each side. a bimini top can be mounted to the deck, gunwhale, or rails. Just measure the distance athwartships between the two mounting points. The length (or forward/aft coverage) can be a maximum of 72" with a three bow Bimini top, which is the only one that we currently offer. Just measure the amount of coverage that you want. Be mindful of any obstruction such as mainsheet tackle, which may interfere with the bimini being used while sailing.
As with all of our products, all necessary hardware and detailed instructions will be included for installation.
